Privacy Policy

Last updated · 2026-05-31

This Privacy Policy describes how Brassens (“Brassens,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our voice recording and transcription service (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Your name, email address, and authentication identifiers, managed on our behalf by our authentication provider (WorkOS).
  • Audio recordings. The audio you capture or upload for transcription.
  • Transcripts and derived content. Text transcripts and any summaries or metadata generated from your recordings.
  • Billing information. Subscription status and payment metadata. Card details are handled directly by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Usage and diagnostic data. Device, log, and usage information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2. How We Handle Recordings and Transcripts

Audio recordings and transcripts are processed to provide the transcription Service. Recordings may be transmitted to third-party AI transcription providers solely to produce a transcript. We do not sell your recordings or transcripts, and we do not use your recording content to train our own models without your explicit consent. You may delete individual recordings and transcripts at any time from within the Service.

3. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe, your payment details are collected and stored by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to manage your subscription (such as plan, status, and the last four digits of your card).

4. Third-Party Processors

We rely on a limited set of trusted sub-processors to operate the Service, each bound by data-processing obligations:

  • WorkOS — authentication and identity.
  • Stripe — payment processing and billing.
  • Supabase — database and backend storage.
  • AI transcription providers — speech-to-text processing of your recordings.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. When you do, your account enters a 30-day soft-delete grace period during which it is disabled and recoverable on request. After the grace period elapses, your account and associated recordings and transcripts are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our active systems. We may retain limited records where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as tax and accounting). We also retain a minimal, anonymized record (a one-way hash of your email address, with no other personal data) to prevent repeated abuse of the free trial.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service, and the “last updated” date above will be revised.

9. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy or your data can be sent through our contact page.
